The Coronation Minor Hockey
Association is indebted to its volunteers as it would be unable to function
without them. From the Executive, to the coaches, conveners, time keepers
and parents, Coronation Minor Hockey is a community of families brought
together for the love of children and a game.
Volunteers are essential
to the organisation so please consider volunteering a little of your time
and join the many before you who have gained so much from the experience.
To find out more about how, please read this website and/or contact the CMHA TDC Rep
On-Ice Requirements
On-ice volunteers enable
the association to field teams from Hockey School to Juvenile. To participate
in on-ice activities, all volunteers must fulfill certain requirements
including completing an on-line Respect In Sports course (information on courses here)and having
a police background check performed. Respect in Sports is not a part of any other clinic. The onus is on the volunteer to complete the on-line course before being permitted on the ice, behind the bench, or in the timekeeper / penalty box. CMHA is not permitted to allow volunteers on the ice if their course is "in progress." Volunteers must must show CMHA their Respect in Sports completion card (which may be printed off once the course is completed) to the CMHA executive or TDC.
In addition, teams in the
Novice division and above require a Trainer and although not required
by the Hamilton Minor Hockey Council (except at the Select and Hub levels),
CMHA is working towards having a Development Coach Level 1 on the bench
for each team above Tyke.
The following table outlines
the Hamilton Minor Hockey Council requirements for each division in which
CMHA has teams. Note that a coach may not act as coach and trainer on
one team.

Coronation Minor Hockey Association
(CMHA) provides access to on-going clinics. Attending one or more of these
clinics is necessary for volunteers to participate in running
the various teams in the association. These clinics are provided to CMHA
volunteers at no cost to the volunteer (provided that the clinic attended
by volunteer is a HMHC clinic and attendance is arranged by the CMHA TDC
rep. Volunteers that attend clinics outside Hamilton will not be reimbursed
by CMHA for their costs). Any volunteer that does not attend a clinic
that they have signed up for without a just reason will not be subsidized by CMHA again. They will be responsible for the full cost themselves.
To obtain further information
on clinics and reserve a space at an upcoming clinic, please fill out
one of the following applications and return it to the CMHA TDC rep accompanied with a cheque made out to "Hamilton TDC". These have to be in the CMHA TDC Rep's possession prior to any registration being accepted. Cheques will be safeguarded and returned upon completion of the clinic to which one has registered.CMHA TDC Rep's email and telephone: tim.burns@cogeco.ca (905) 719-4884
